Getting To Know Your
Bible
Do you want to help your church members and
prospects get to know the story of the Bible? Getting to Know Your Bible
is a survey study of the Bible. It is a concise view, a frame, showing how
the parts connect to form a whole. “The Bible” used in this study is used by
most protestant denominations; the study does not include the Apocrypha.
This work by author and Bible teacher
Julie Boone provides pastors and educators an easy to use, yet
stimulating guide for involving members and prospects in personal and group
Bible survey study.
The material is divided into four units of 12
lessons each. Each part can be covered in three months if weekly lessons are
held, and all four units can be completed in a year. The survey provides a
brief overview showing how the different parts of the Bible unite to form a
whole.
Unit One presents Genesis – Ruth
Unit Two presents Samuel – Esther
Unit Three presents Job – Malachi
Unit Four presents the New Testament
Each segment stands alone, so a class can
choose to study one segment of the Bible rather than the whole. However,
because each part of the Bible is so closely related to each other part, to
use the materials in consecutive order is more helpful to students.
