Out of her over 40 years of Bible study and teaching and her
experience as a Christian author, Julie Boone presents an excellent Bible
study resource in “Getting to Know Your Bible.” Getting to Know
Your Bible was first published by The Sunday School Board in 1983 for
use in local churches and individual study. These materials were adapted
for use on the mission field by several foreign missionaries. The current
edition of Getting To Know Your Bible has been enriched with
additional commentary and workbook features, a teacher-leader guide with
session by session procedural suggestions, and PowerPoint presentations.
Mrs. Boone’s published articles and materials include Sunday School lessons
for adults for the Baptist Sunday School Board/Lifeway, Disciple Youth
curriculum materials, and articles in Open Windows,
Guideposts Magazine, and Mature Years Magazine.
Mrs. Boone was born in Thompson, Georgia, and graduated from high school in
Columbia, South Carolina. Education includes Mitchell College in
Statesville, North Carolina, University of Oklahoma, and studies at Meredith
College and North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina and
Southeastern Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina. She served as a trustee
for Wingate University for twelve years.
Julie’s very practical approach to Bible teaching was honed through the
years as she taught children and adults at First Baptist Church, Greensboro,
North Carolina and at Forest Hills Baptist Church, Raleigh, North Carolina.
She has taught weekday as well as Sunday Bible classes.
Residents of Raleigh, North Carolina, she and husband Phillip have a
business and special ministry through the Boone Hearing Aid Center. The
Boones have two sons, one living in Wake Forest, the other in Raleigh, North
Carolina.
