Ever wondered why we use puzzles with preschoolers at church?
Puzzles
help children to
·
work
together and make choices
·
develop
feelings of satisfaction and competence
·
hear
Bible story conversation, verses and songs as they manipulate the pieces
·
develop
fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination
·
develop
problem-solving skills
·
develop
thinking, matching and recognition skills
·
learn
to associate, match, classify and sequence.
Puzzles
can be pull-apart and put-together activities, floor puzzles, matching objects,
etc. When
choosing a wooden inlay puzzle, a 2-6
piece puzzle is appropriate for Ones and Two’s, 2-11 pieces for Older
Twos and Threes, 10-24 pieces for Older Threes, Fours, Pre-K’s and 11-30
pieces for Kindergartners.
